Check out the 2016 Toyota Tacoma
The 2016 Toyota Tacoma has a lot to offer with its 2016 model. The 2015 generated a 20 percent increase in sales, and this new model is just pushing those numbers higher.
The engineers at Toyota cut 12 percent off of the aerodynamic drag of the 2016 Tacoma. While it may resemble the 2015 model in style and looks, the 2016 version has completely new glass and parts. With extra attitude in the form of chiseled lines and newly shaped fenders, and extra options like LED DRL with projector-beam headlights, hood scoop, and highly aggressive grille, 2016 is a great year to drive a Tacoma.
High-strength steel gives this truck a tough exterior that improves overall safety. A reduced weight gives a performance boost. Check out the available towing package for trailer-sway control and 6800 pound capacity.
Engine and transmission
While the 2.7-liter four-cylinder 159 horsepower engine is a match for last year, there’s a new six-speed automatic transmission to enjoy. Drivers who prefer a manual transmission will enjoy the upgraded six-speed option with the 2016 model. The 3.5–liter 278 horsepower V-6 engine offers a bit of extra power over last year’s 236 horsepower 4.0-litre.
Better fuel mileage makes everyone happy. The Tacoma refuses to sacrifice performance or economy. Switching seamlessly between the Atkinson cycle and the Otto cycle allows the engine to get the most from its combustion process. This process is handled by the engine computer, so the driver gets the benefits, but doesn’t have to think about it. With a 19 mpg fuel rating for city driving and a 24 mpg fuel rating for highway driving, Tacoma offers a great deal of power combined with excellent fuel economy.
A smart key lets drivers open the door with a touch and start the Tacoma with the push of a button as long as the key is nearby. In a burst of innovation, Toyota engineers placed a Go-Pro Camera mount to the right of the rear-view mirror. That small and fun upgrade is just another clue that Tacoma’s designers had style and strength in mind.
The Limited interior is leather in hickory and gray colors, and that upgrade alone makes this Tacoma version worth a second look. It also has a 60.5-inch bed. There’s a JBL audio system in premium Tacoma models. All models have superior audio systems with six speakers, voice recognition, Siri Eyes Free, backup camera mounted in the tailgate handle, Bluetooth, and a 6.1-inch touch screen.
Dual zone climate controls keep everyone happy and comfortable. Noise reduction measures put in place with the 2016 model give it a quieter cabin.
